Sogni d'Oro (Dreams of Gold), 2001-2002

Sogni d'Oro interviews contain oral interviews conducted from 2001-2002 to document the experience of Italian-Americans in Worcester County, Massachusetts. Organized by the individual, the files contain documentation and sound recordings of the interviews.

Digital access to the Sogni d'Oro interviews was enabled by the award of a Fitchburg State University Gallucci-Circio in 2011. The project includes migration of the audio files into appropriate electronic format and transcription of the interviews by a professional transcription service.

The digital collection to date has been completed by volunteer archivist, Nichole Shea, under the supervision of Special Collections Librarian, Kate Wells. Under the award of the 2011 Gallucci-Circio Grant, the collection currently includes interviews with 26 individuals.

The University Archives will submit for a Galluci-Circio grant again this fall to complete the remaining interviews with 5 individuals.
