The purpose of the Reference Department is to assist the University community, students, faculty, and staff in using the resources of the library.
Consistent with higher education philosophy and the Fitchburg State University Library mission statement, the Reference department commits itself to instructing students in research methods and in the use of indexes, catalogs and other instruments of information retrieval.
