Onboarding Program: Librarians

University's Human Resources Office will:

  • Communicate with new librarian to ensure all hiring paperwork is completed.
  • Meet with new librarian to discuss benefits, retirement plans, HR policies/procedures, required state ethical training, etc.

Library Dean

  • Review job expectations, provide feedback and support on initial goals

Library Program Area Chair

  • Introduce the new librarian to the library's Mentoring Program
  • Review MSCA contract as it pertains to librarians
  • Explain the role of the Library Program Area Chair
