Search the Kanopy website. Go to https://fitchburgstate.kanopy.com/. You can browse by topic or do a keyword search
Kanopy does not require an individual to set up an account to use its resources. However, you will need an account to add videos to a playlist to create clips of film.
To set up an account:
1). Click on Sign Up in the upper right side of the page.
2). Complete the registration form
3). Open your email to confirm registration.
4). Account Confirmation
if you do not need to view the entire film, you can create clips of portions of the film.
1). From a film's landing page, click on Create Clip/Playlist. If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to enter your credentials to login to your account..
2). You will be prompted to create a new playlist. If you have existing playlists they will appear as well.
3). Click on Edit playlist.
4). The entire film will be added to your playlist. To create a clip, click on Edit
5). Go to the section of the film that starts where you want to clip.
Example To make a 10:30 minute film clip starting at 14:30 minutes into the film and eding at 25:00 minutes, Move the film timeline to 14:30 minutes into the film, Click in the Start box and then click on capture. To finish the clip, move the film timeline to 25:00 minutes, Click in the Stop time box and click on Capture. Click on Save Clip.
6). The playlist now contains a 10:30 minute clip of the film. You can add additional clips from the same film or other film to the playlist.
1). To link to a film or film clip in Blackboard, click on the Share link and copy the URL. The URL has the library proxy embedded into it so users will be able to access the film off-campus by entering their FSU credentials.
2). Go to Blackboard and under Course Documents, click on web link.
3). Title the film and enter the URL. Click on Submit.
4). The link to the film is now active. Users can click on the link to go to the Kanopy site to view the film.
1). To link to a film or film clip in Blackboard, click on the Share link and click on Embed. Copy the code in the Embed this Video box. . The code has the library proxy embedded into it so users will be able to access the film off-campus by entering their FSU credentials.
2). Go to Blackboard and under Course Documents, click on item.
3). Title the film and click on the HTML button to toggle to the text editor. Enter the embed code and click on Update. Click on Submit.
4). The film is embedded into the document. Users can click on the link to go to the Kanopy site to view the film.
