The Center for Italian Culture and Amelia V. Gallucci-Cirio Scholarship (CIC/AVGC Scholarship) award money to students participating in a study abroad program (faculty-led or semester) to Italy.
The pictures are taken by Fitchburg State University students and are preserved by the Office of International Education, Hammond Hall, 3rd floor. They are available on demand and in person. Here below you can view a small selection of the highlights of each program through different years. |
- Varshita Patel completed a semester at Florence University of the Arts through ASA. She took courses related to her Business major and Italian Culture. Varshita applied and received the CIC Scholarship to help with the costs of her semester in Italy. |

This course explores the society and culture of ancient Rome from the Italian city of Verona, an important Roman military colony and commercial center. In this course, we will investigate Roman public and private life, spectacles and entertainment in the Roman city, trade and exchange in the Roman world, and Roman religion. Students use the city of Verona as a learning laboratory to immerse themselves in Italian life, both ancient and modern. They explored Verona, Florence, Venice, and Lake Garda. |
