As a student in a distance learning or extended campus course/program you have full access to the circulating collections in the Gallucci-Cirio Library and to most of our non-circulating collections from home via the Library's website.
Note: You must be logged in as an Off-Campus user to access the online subscription databases, journals, music, etc.
When you find an item you want to use and it is accessible online you have direct access to save, print, download, listen, etc. to the item (options vary depending on the type of material and the database).
When you find an item you want to use that is physically in our library and not available online, log into the ILLiad system to place your requests. Where copyright allows, the library will scan items such as an article or book chapter and deliver the electronic copy into your ILLiad account. Otherwise, the Library will mail the items to the address specified on your ILLiad account; there is no charge for mailing items to you. You will only be responsible for the cost of shipping books, CDs, and other circulating items back to the Gallucci-Cirio Library. You are also welcome to come to the library and check out and/or return materials through the Circulation Desk; you will need your One Card if you come to the library.
When you find an item you want to use that is not available in our online or print collections, simply log into the ILLiad system to request the item. We will find a library that has it and get it for you with electronic copies delivered to your ILLiad account and physical items mailed to your home.
Don't overlook one of your best resources - your Gallucci-Cirio Librarians! Need help getting started, developing your search strategy, focusing your topic and selecting "keywords", deciding what type of resources you need as well as how to use them, or struggle with citations? Your librarians are here to assist you. You can feel free to stop by my office, call or email any time, but to ensure that I will be available, it is best to make an appointment. With my online scheduler you can see my available times and make an appointment via web conferencing, chat, in-person in the library, phone, or email. Additional weekend and evening appointments outside of my normal schedule are available upon request by emailing or calling me directly.
