C.L. Lindsay is one of the nation’s leading experts in student discipline and higher education law. He is the author of two books: The College Students Guide to the Law, (Rowman and Littlefield, 2005) and Sex, Speech, Selfies and Getting Smashed-Critical Legal Issues for College Students (Cognella Academic Press, 2023), a textbook for use in first year experience classes.
He has spent the last twenty years working with college students, teaching them about their legal rights and responsibilities. He has given more than 1500 invited lectures at colleges, universities and high schools across the country. He is one of the most popular lecturers on the college circuit today.
He has been cited as an expert on student rights in numerous national and regional publications including The Chronicle of Higher Education, The Chicago Tribune, Newsweek, and The Christian Science Monitor. His radio and television appearances include CBS News Radio, MSNBC Live, and NPRs Radio Times with Marty Moss-Coane. He graduated from Denison University in 1993 and received a law degree from the University of Michigan in 1996.
