Children's Literature

The AVGC Library maintains a comprehensive Children's Literature collection on the third floor of the building. This guide contains resources for finding children's books and for exploring research on the study and teaching of children's literature.

About the Children's Literature Collection

The Amelia V. Gallucci-Cirio Library at Fitchburg State University maintains a comprehensive Children's Literature collection on the third floor of the building along with the library's Young Adult Literature collection. The Children's Literature Collection includes:

  • Classics
  • Diverse, Multicultural, and Inclusive Books
  • Nursery Songs and Rhymes
  • Award-winners
  • Concept Books
  • Picture Books
  • Early Readers

Primary users of this collection are undergraduate Early Childhood and Elementary Education majors and those students enrolled in juvenile literature courses offered by the English Studies Department.

Note: The Children's Literature Collection is in the midst of a years-long reorganization project. If you experience trouble finding a book in the collection, please ask for help at the front desk or online.
