Continuity of Library Services

About This Guide

This guide will help you locate library research and instructional support resources that are available as Fitchburg State University moves classes to online formats in place of in-person instruction due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak.

Library Research and Support Continues While Library Building is Closed

The Fitchburg State University Library building is closed until further notice to maintain public health due to the COVID-19 virus. We will continue to meet the information needs of the FSU community in the following ways:

  • Providing access to our online collections including digital archives, databases, ebooks, journals, and streaming media
  • Offering online research assistance and support
  • Continuing to process Interlibrary loan requests for articles
  • Supporting faculty, staff and students as they transition to remote teaching and learning.

Please note since the library building is closed, there is no access to physical course reserve materials, print books, computers and printers. While the book drop is available, books do not need to be returned until the Library re-opens. Late fees will be waived.

Research assistance is available online: Monday through Thursday from 9am to 7pm, Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 12pm to 5pm, Sunday 1pm to 8pm. See the Library's Calendar for full details.

You can obtain assistance online through: Let's Chat.  Librarians are available through chat (Chat with a Librarian or Google Hangouts), email, or an online appointment.
