What Makes a Good Annotation?

An annotated bibliography is a document that gathers articles on a given topic and summarizes them. 

For this course, the annotation will consist of the following components:

Citation: Provides information to locate the article.

Summary (2 sentences):

  1. Write one sentence summarizing the purpose of the article
  2. A second sentence should convey the results of the study

Reflection (1-2 sentences):

  1. If the study has different results from previous studies, mention the differences (This part can be omitted if results are consistent)
  2. One sentence discussing how this article is relevant to your research and incorporated into your paper
