Meet with a Librarian

Don't overlook one of your best resources - your Librarians!

Librarians can help you refine a topic, identify keywords, develop a search strategy, and determine which types of resources you need for a variety of research projects, in person and online.

Research assistance from a Fitchburg State librarian is available in person:

  • Monday through Thursday, 9am to 7pm
  • Friday, 9am to 5pm
  • Sunday, 1pm to 8pm

You can get help online through the library's 24/7 chat service on our website and databases, Google Meet, email, or an online appointment.

How should I reach out to a librarian?

How to get help at the library. Chat is the fastest way to get in touch with a librarian any time of the day. Chat is best for quick questions. Calling the research help desk at 978-665-3223 is another fast option for quick questions during normal workday hours. Emailing a librarian directly or through reference@fitchburgstate.edu is best for questions that require more time to answer and when you do not need an immediate response. Meeting with a librarian by appointment or at the research help desk is best for one on one help with questions that require more time to answer.
